Run and Gun anyone?

I saw that earlier today. I'm planning on doing the 3K....kind of a mini run-n-gun.

The lady - Kelly - that is sponsoring it is a certified bad ass. She sponsored a WWII themed 3 Gun last year. She ran the stages with her Garand, 1911 and pump shotgun...while wearing vintage WWII WAVE uniform, including skirt and patent leather pumps.

I’ve done it for a living and have the scars to prove it. I think I’ll just stay home and watch cartoons and eat fruit loops instead.
Thats what you do everyday isn't it?

No thanks. I'll wait for the next revolution, in 5 years or so. Then I'll sit in my chair, in my a/c'd house and be comphy.

Going to try and make this one for damn sure. 8k is the only option.

They call that manning up. :)

I'd love to do this, but not sure I will be game ready in August. Just started running again. Doing about 3 miles of intervals right now on cool, flat land. Also need to tune up my rifle handling skills. Don't want to be that guy.

How about I come, set up a tent, and help you sell hats and sunblock? And I'll watch you run around if you would like ;)

I am a great cheerleader, ask my wife.

I so want to do this but my cardiologist may not approve. And I would definitely need some non bench training with regards to my rifle handling skills. But there is time...

I like to run.
I like to shoot.

What could go possibly go wrong?

I think I’m gonna do this. Keep gear and ammo weight to 20 lbs should be doable.

I don’t know about this one...but some of these events require a pack with xx% of body weight. Somewhere around 20-25% if I recall correctly.

This seems awesome, but I'm concerned about shooting in the cave in one of the videos. That seems like a setup ready made for ricochets.

Sign up and force your own hand. Then toe the line and put out.... if nothing else a hell of a workout. Now if they just had age groups!

With my work situation right now I can't commit fully. But if all goes well by early June I might be able to. I don't mind going crazy on the physical training thing. Even at my age, but I really would need some firearms training first. I am a square range guy. I'd want some more experience running and gunning first. Don't want to be an accident waiting to happen.

Lets go to the range and get comfortable swinging AR's around.

Now THAT is awesome!

2:05 in this video. A cave shooting element? Yes please!

I don’t think the nice folk at SSI would appreciate it if I started training for this there... [emoji12]

You should tackle the Asheville Super. That is a beast of a race.

Easy there puppy dog. I’m coming down from being 300lbs, getting into shape, and starting out. Next year I’m going to move to the supers.
