Picked it up this mourning. Ordered it from grabagun.com when they showed in stock on Monday. With shipping and $30 FFL transfer I'm into it at just under $700. Not a bad deal I thought.
Loaded 100 rounds tonight of 44mag cases with a 240gr. plated RNFP Xtreme bullet and varying amounts of W231 powder. Off to the range tomorrow to break it in. Hope I remember the phone so I can get some pictures.

Look forward to your thoughts after range time.

It's a shooter! Started with the lightest powder load of 5.2gr. (W231) and while soft shooting, I was all over the paper. I was outside but the shooting lanes are covered and I had trouble seeing the sights. Faster loads seemed to be better, but eventually gave up and moved to the open bay with steel plates and a Texas star. Now I could see the sights! I hammered the steel plates easily and tried loads up to 7.0gr. 100 rounds went to quick! I'm rather pleased with it. DA is a little heavy but a rebound spring will take care of that. SA is typical S&W. This is a good candidate for a F.O. front sight like my 627. So far I like this one!

Pulled the side plate and installed a 11 lb. rebound spring. Though it would be to light and it was, trigger wouldn't return reliably. Did a little polishing and installed a 13 lb. spring. Nice trigger now seems to get lighter as more rounds get shot. Over 400 now. Have a Dawson precision F.O. .250" front sight coming. Of course nobody had front sight pins in stock. My eyes ain't what they used to be and that red ramp front sight is getting harder for me to see, especially under any kind of shade. 3 dots, night sights and F.O. works wonders for me.
Been playing with different powder charges and plated bullets. Might be the short barrel but the harder you push them the better the groups get. I've shot some pretty hot rounds now and surprised how well the 69 handles them. Can't really say they're any more punishing than in my 4" 629.
If the idea of a big bore snubbie puts wood in your pocket your going to like it. If you reload, even better.
