S&W continues to copy Keltec's homework.

S&W needs to get their survey partner to get their site security certificates up to date.

I just got some spam from Keltec reminding me they make the PMR30. Guess they're aware of the competition.

and the PMR30 is a future evolution of the Grendel P30 and blow back. Kel Tec and Smith only have a semi auto .22 Mag 30 rd pistol in common. Smith uses a gas delayed system. Does that make all .22 rimfire pistols copy of Smith & Wesson as they came out with the .22 Short rimfire in the 1850s? S&W also had the Volcanic Repeating handgun firing caseless ammo before that too. That would be future developed into the Henry Repeating Rifle.

The Grendel designer was George Kellgren, who is the founder of Keltec, so that’s a pretty natural evolution.
As far as whether it’s a copy…well, the pmr30 was a semi auto poly framed 22 mag pistol with a 30 round magazine. It was pretty unique on the market. S&W, who has recently come out with at least 2 other homages to Keltec products, brings out a semi auto poly framed 22 mag pistol with a 30 round magazine. While not a direct copy it does bear certain similarities that definitely would potentially bring one to think there may have at least been some inspiration taken from Keltec.
Doesn’t bother me though. I like having options, and while I haven’t had any problems with any of the Keltec products I own some people have and to me there’s nothing more frustrating than a product that has an amazing concept but a crappy execution. If you liked the PMR30 but not the manufacturer, Smith now has your gun.

Popeye's is this best chicken restaurant in a truck stop.

Pic related kicks Popeye's back into the truck stop bathroom where it belongs.

Popeye's is the best when it's good, but you are far more likely to get a bad meal than a good one if you just hit up a random Popeye's location. Their problems with inconsistency make Bojangles look like Chik-fil-A by comparison. 3/4 of Popeye's restaurants are dirty and have no quality control due to poor management and lazy employees.

Although, now that I think about it, Raising Cane's blows them all out of the water in terms of quality chicken tenders, but I don't have one of those near me since I moved to NC.

Smith seems to be able to keep production up to match demand, something Keltec hasn’t been able to do.

I read an article about KelTec which mentioned that they maintain no corporate debt, and self finance. George Kellgren might not make attractive firearms, but he runs a tight ship

I actually find the aesthetics of Keltec stuff rather appealing. It's very cyberpunk.

Kel Tec really captured the best part of the market with their introduction. The PMR30 is a big part of why 22 mag ammo prices started to skyrocket years ago. When they introduced the PMR30 22 mag ammo was still pretty low cost - it was quite a bit lower priced than 9mm at time of launch. Now it is the same price as 9mm. Companies like S&W and Ruger have vast resources to lunch new products and will do so to continue to build their brands, but make no mistake Kel Tec has introduced some designs that drove some pretty big trends - small pocket 380 ACP , PCC carbine that took Glock mags, and the 22 mag pistol and carbine just to rattle off a few.
I do not own a PMR 30 but have seen several come through our matches that performed as well as any other average priced modern centerfire. I did not buy a PMR 30, for the same reason I will not buy the S&W 22 mag - ammo is ridiculously expensive for sub par ballistics.
