I need an OWB holster for a model 66 snubbie. Any suggestions on what works for you and is readily available? Thanks in advance.

IMO, The Lobo Gun Leather Enhanced Pancake is the best OWB for snubby K frames. Super high quality construction, holds tight to the body, perfect ride height...and most importantly, the belt slots are offset loops so that the holster does not deform the belt and cause pressure points.

Next up, a TT Gunleather OWB with snaps.

TT Gunleather will take about 3 weeks. Lobo will take 10 weeks or so.

Pics to follow.

@chiefjason, what's your opinion of the way the belt slots have been treated on that Lobo? Looks pretty cool to me.

I've always kind of scratched my head on those. I like Lobo, dealt with him on another board. And I like his work. My 3 concerns would be as follows.

1- He builds traditional holsters and I don't, no way I could even try that. Well, not without a lot of extra effort. So I don't.
2- The rear belt slot is now a single layer of leather as far as I can tell. The front support may keep that from being an issue. But it's a concern for longevity.
3- I think it makes for a wider holster. Great if you don't mind that. Not so great for smaller folks.

That said, it probably breaks in quick because that loop probably needs nearly no break in. And I've not seen any complaints about them so #2 may be more concern that fact.

If you are trying to keep the gun closer to the body, the flat backs that I make are getting that close too.

And keep in mind I'm a holster nerd, so I look at every holster pretty critically. Trying to figure out what I need to do better or what I don't want to do.

I also like the Lobo Combat Special holster. Do understand it's a discrete carry holster. Not the best option for deeper C/C. as the pancake styles.

The biggest thing you'll notice about the Lobo holster is that when the belt is cinched tighter the gun fit becomes too tight because of the way it's "half and half" moulded whereas Chief's holsters have a flat back and the moulding is primarily in the outer half. This keeps the gun fit much more consistent. I have 6 or so of Chief's holsters for various guns (including a 2.5" 66 and a 2.5" 19) but the one I carry every day fits my Colt 1911 Defender, they cannot be beat........
