I can bring my smoker / grill if need be.

Any particular place in mind in Southren Pines?

There's a few of us who will drive way out of our way to eat at Full Moon Oyster Bar in SP. Props to @thrillhill for telling us about it.

I see a lot of people liking the Full Moon Oyster Bar. Would anyone object to that being the meeting place?

No. The difference in quality between the two makes the drive to Southern Pines worth the extra effort.
The missus and I noticed the decline in service at the Morrisville location the last we were there a few weeks ago. We stopped in yesterday about 4PM to beat the Saturday crowd, but it was already getting busy, with the same three people working the counters. We didn't stay. Ended up at City Barbecue. I just had three "vegetables". Gumbo, pole beans, and collards. They put enough meat in all of them to not even need an order of meat.

Oh. My. Gosh. was it good.

It's not just service, it's the quality of the food, too.

Well...the Blue Oyster Bar is probably more appropriate, but I'm too far away to attend and so my vote shouldn't count.

There's only one downside to meeting at Full Moon Oyster bar. I don't recall tables, except outside. If you are sitting inside you are sitting at the oyster bar, although the bar is U shaped x three, as I recall, and all connected I think. So depending on how many show that might work fine.

I don't recall tables, except outside.

There are a couple of inside tables at Jamestown but they are reserved for people who are handicapped and can't sit at the bar. And the oysters are warmer (assuming that you're getting them steamed) when they are shucked at the bar in front of you.

I have a limited schedule do to 3 on 3 off. So who wants to pick a day?

I think a Sunday night or Monday night could be best to avoid others.

But it's just a option

Honest opinion. I've tried to get locals in the RTP area together on week nights before, and there's a bunch of us. It's usually a bust. I can get a couple together but that's usually it.

I think you'll reduce the participation pretty heavily at night, and particularly on week nights. Especially for anyone driving an hour or more in. I think the majority of the respondents in the thread are an hour or more away.

But if I'm wrong, and I am a lot, y'all pipe up.
