I have a standard bull barrel model 10 with an internal mag. Has anyone ever converted one over to an external mag. I hate it only holds a few rounds at a time.

I did an 11 Hog Hunter which is essentially the same. I did mine (bottom metal) from CDI who is no longer anymore but Pacific Tool does one, Midway sells a couple, others can be found online.
I went with the Boyd's thumbhole stock. At the time CDI was doing free inletting if you sent your stock to them. That was huge selling point for me for the extra cost of $20 buck shipping. Worked out beautifully, and far less brain damage.
Might check if any of the current guys selling bottom metal do inletting for their metal with Boyd's.

Otherwise, was pretty straight forward, bolt on and go. I did need to change the front baffle on the bolt to use the AISC pattern mags for it (the bolt) to come back far enough to pick up the next round out of the mag. You can change it for 3 bucks, or take the existing one off and take a cut off wheel to it to remove the tang that limits bolt travel

She currently wears a different optic. My son drives golf balls with if off the bench all day long.

You other option would be to buy the Savage bottom metal and find a donor AccuStock stock that someone upgraded from and use Savage mags with it. Nearly plug and play.

Thanks for the information. And sharp looking gun. I got a savage hog hunter as well. Great guns.

I'm in the same boat. I've got a savage 12fv I bought for 220 after rebate long time ago. I've never loaded for it but is the most accurate out of the box gun with factory ammo I've ever owned. It deserves a better stock or chassis just been scouring the sites for something used that will work bc I am cheap 😅. Id really like an Oryx chassis for it.

TheBobcat... Consider looking at the Choate line of tactical stocks. For the money I think they're hard to beat and for the Savage they have a withering array of internal and external mag options.

I'm just finishing setting up a Savage 112–BVSS–S (long action single shot) that was chambered in 220 Swift and converted to the 220 Weatherby Rocket. And everything's coming along nicely:
