This item was mentioned in a couple threads and I ordered one a month or so ago. I’d already finished the lower for my next build (using a CMMG Colt-mag lower), but never pulled it back out to swap the strap. Got word yesterday the upper I want to buy should be back in stock middle of next week, so I installed the SF this morning and took a couple pics.

Installed mine opposite of the video, so the buckle is on the opposite side. We’ll have to wait and see if the end of the strap is more bothersome than the buckle...and I was already given a heads up that the buckle never really got in the way. I’ll install the next one the “right” way and compare.

Really does a good job of stabilizing the split in an SBA3. The only slightly confusing part of the install, which they clearly explain in the video, is you start from the top...which means you have to pull the “fix” portion of the velcro through the top slot and the slot on whichever side you run it. Once I figured out the best method for me to do it, the next one probably goes on in 20 seconds or so.

They have a bunch of colors. I ordered a Kryptek Nomad last night for an FDE SBA3 I also ordered. I’ve been on a wait list for a Kryptek Typhon for ~6 weeks. Need it for a gray SBA3 on my AR57.

There’s also a PDW Split Fix once you get to the Wise Men site.

The brace bending out of shape when stored muzzle up in a safe?

Or whatever other reason I want to spend $22. :p

The SBA3 I used it on kept popping inside itself and kind of distorting. This fixed that right up. They were out of stock on the black one when I ordered so I just went with OD green. I love mine.
 
To be clear...this is basically saying they don’t have the ATF/NFA stamp of approval to use while shooting. :cool:

I had never heard of the “deformation” issue.

The ends where they brace meets, tend to become overlapped and while it’s not a huge deal, it is kind of annoying. This “split-fix” fixes the issue perfectly and makes the “brace” feel much more rigid.

Yeah I love mine. Totally worth it....and like BigWaylon, me and @JustKeepSwimming had special moments until we figured out how to get the strap through the top slot. Once that was done it was smooth sailing

Ha! Yep. I felt flat out retarded trying to put that on until I found their video.
 
I have one and really like it. Definitely makes the brace more stable but you could probably get a Velcro strap and put it over the split and be fine.
