SBR/Pistol Discreet Bag

@Derek8404 and crew what mags you packing in your bags? All 30's or do you use any 20 rounders? I was thinking about having a 20 loaded with soare 30's. Or is that a dumbass idea? Thought it might be quicker/easier to draw out of the bag with a smaller mag.

That’s exactly what I do. 20 rounder in the gun and 2 spare 30 rounders. It’s too hard to get in and out with a 30 in the gun.

Here we go! The box showed up today and it was freaking HUGE.

Might have bit off more than I can chew. Luckily there was some packaging and the bag came out a little more reasonably sized.

Still pretty big.
IMG_1455.JPG
Front pocket has decent amount if space. Very tall, but not too deep.

IMG_1456.JPG
Rear section has decent storage and 2 mag holders. Plenty of space in the little subtle storage sleeve for a small bag or in my case probably a pisto, holster and a few mags. Just need to decide how to organize it.

IMG_1457.JPG
11.5" barreled rifle in the sleeve and held in place with straps. And inch or so to spare.

This gives you an idea of the thought that went into this bag. Each side of the waist straps has zippered pockets on them. Very cool. Maybe pistol mags? First aid kit? Not sure yet, but a handy spot for something.

Some serious padding on the back. The rifle shouldn't pound my back too much. Nice touch.

Here it is next to a Condor 3 day bag. Decent sized bag. The Secret Weapon is much taller, but isn't as thick. It will be interesting to see how it carries.

Thats a nice looking bag. Whats the OAL of your AR platform in there?
I need 30" total clearance if I want to carry my 7.5" SBR with the stock collapsed and 24.5" total if I carry the Scorpion with stock folded.

I think I am at about 29" with an 11.5" barrel and the SB3 stock collapsed. I think this bag's specs say 33". Could add a Law Folder to save some space, but this seems decent. @Derek8404 has the smaller Cherry Bomb which is probably a lot better to carry if you have a smaller OAL. The bag is definitely the nicest, most well made bag I own. But it should be for the price.

I've got an option with the Scorpion already, Im really looking to find something to put the AR in because it carries a little more oomph than the Scorp.
Here's what I have now. A Jack Wolfskin hiker I bought while stationed in Europe. Not purpose built, does what I need it to, but Im limited to the Scorp.

That's close to what I am planning on carrying but with a good fixed blade knife and maybe a few extra pieces of clothing as well. I hear what you say on the oomph. That's why I went AR. I am not likely to ever pull that out and use it, but if I do I want all the capability I can get. If and when I have the budget I might add a 6.5 Grendel pistol. Then I could reach out a bit more effectively.

My fixed blade rides in the door pocket of the truck. If I ever abandon the truck, I'll grab it and the jacket or two in the backseat.
This pic was taken in the summer...I add a toboggan and silk weight top and bittoms to the sockbag when winter sets in.
I should be ok lol.

Here’s my 21.5”x9.25” AR9

PDW style stock
4” barrel
6” F1 suppressor
20 round mag inserted, 4 32rd mags stuffed in the bag

Just an old gym/book bag that would never get a 2nd glance.

I finally came to the conclusion that in most cases the 'gray man' look for a pistol bag is overrated. I'm not carrying that backpack to the 7/11 for a slurpee once a week. Or walking with it and my kid to the ice cream store. I am stashing it in my car until it is needed. Probably never. I'll take it on the trail for some hikes. Nobody will givemit a look. But if things are that wild my bag's looks will be the least of the world's problems. I think we sometimes overthink things. Sheeple don't notice things in normal times. Kinda think if fires are burning, trees are falling or mobs are rampaging a slightly tactical bag will be noticed. Plus they'll probably see the AR in my hands first. The bag won't even register. :D

My thought process is more along the lines of a smash and grab deterrent. I'll leave that in the "way back" of the SUV with a dirty towel and a pair of old running shoes lying on top. I doubt the typical thief is after somebody's nasty workout gear.

@CZfool68 have you got it all loaded up yet? How are you liking it?

Nope. Just got back from a little shopping trip. Had to grab some more things for the project. I'll probably load up some stuff tomorrow. Trying to decide on how to load the pistol. I kind of want the butt on top so I can grab and shoulder quickly, but don't know about having it sit on the barrel all the time. Might just put a folded up towell or something in the bottom of the bag. Probably will have to try it both ways to see howmit carries.

Mine sits muzzle down but the flash can I have spreads out the weight a little more than a regular muzzle device would. Mine has a zipper pocket on the bottom of both sides and it looks like yours does was well. I made a small trauma kit (pressure bandage, tourniquet, gauze and gloves) that fits perfectly in there

@Derek8404 or anyone else, have you tried the 20 round mag carrier SB Tactical makes as an add on to their braces? Think they are about $30. Was thinking 20 loaded and 20 more on board could be handy. Plus a few backup 30's in the pack.

No I haven’t seen that. Looks pretty interesting. Although I didn't see the SBA3 listed as being compatible with it. Not sure if I would ever use one, as I’m trying to keep it as light as possible.
