Might be too last minute this year, But I’d like to arrange a hunt with my father in law for next year. Anyone been? Any outfitter recommendations?

If you decide to venture up to dare/hyde/tyrrell county in NC I could get you hooked up with some A1 class people that love bear hunting more than life itself. If you’ve never hunted the swamps up here it’s an experience all to to it’s own.

You’re gonna need to chase in the NC coastal area. Same with NE South Carolina. Odds greatly improve in coastal areas

Not sure about nc, but this is most certainly not the case in sc. There were more bears killed in the mountain hunt on the last recorded year (2019) than in the previous ten years of the coastal hunt Sc bear harvest info

When I duck hunted in Hyde on the Pamlico Sound I would see them. Seen a few on pull behind trailers at a couple lodges. They are some smelly critters for sure. When I hunted in Wilkes County I ran across two and they were moving fast away from us.

I saw some bear hunts being advertised at the local sporting goods place by my house yesterday. $8k for 4 men to go hunt a few days in Hyde county + food and lodging.

They’re targeting more (as in actually) successful people than myself at that price.
