My cousin has a SCAR 16 and bought “the best mags available” HK steel mags. He has tried them and they work well however they drag a slight bit on insertion BUT big thing to him they do not drop free easily. He had been using Okay Surefeeds with no problems but just had to have the HK’s. I tried the HK’s in my homebuilt Spikes lower, DD and BPM and they worked perfectly … like they inserted and dropped like they were greased. Anybody got an idea why regular GI’s work fine in the SCAR but the HK’s are dragging especially since the HK’s work fine in any of my AR’s?

Are these the same metal magazines they used to sell as "Maritime heavy duty magazines"?

Years ago those had all sorts of problems across the board.

If I recall fakes may have existed too....

Anyway, my money is on the coating being the culprit. May need to wear in.
