Hopefully I won’t get ran out on a rail here ,lol. I’m looking recommendations for scoping my No4 Mk1. I’m not opposed to drilling & tapping, this particular rifle was a gift so I’ll never sell it & more interested in functionality hunting with it. No I’m not throwing it in a synthetic stock..

Years ago I bought the old ATI no drill mount, & quickly realized it would not hold up for hunting purposes. Kinda been out of the mil surp circle for awhile & some of the old boards & parts sources have dried up. Anyone got a recommendation?

Brian Dick of BDL LTD. in SC sells the Parker Hale no drill telescope brackets. He and others say they are the best of this type, but not cheap.

I went with the S&K decades ago. Rock solid after I shimmed the piece that tightens the mount to the charger bridge. It is solid enough that I won numerous action rifle matches with the combo back in the 80s. I added a repro #4mk1 (T) cheek rest to the butt comb to get a proper cheek weld for the scope.
