How would y'all suggest a search on this forum when I'm looking for something like a "sar-1".
This forum's search engine says that's too short a phrase. I think it's pretty specific.

Is there a way to search for a member by partial member name? ( Hey, gimme a break -- I'm old and I fall down a lot. 😵‍💫 )

In the search pull down there is a Member box.
Start typing the members name and a list comes up.

Only if you start with the correct first character -- the keyword here is "partial" member name. Example: if I type "onn47" in that box, I don't get you )

LOL ya have to start somewhere, like I do when I can't spell a word.
Put something in and see what comes up.

If I put in "onn47", it doesn't return you.

Apparently not.

I tried to search for the word (not in the member box) *outgeek and got nothing.

Then I tried *waylon and got several results. But every one of them was somebody typing Big Waylon (as two words) or calling me Waylon…

I was just trying to do it that way to see if it would pic up a quoted post so you could figure out the actual name, then use that to search again.

Using Google to search for *waylon site:carolinafirearmsforum.com did give me some results.

I just tried putting in an * that' didn't work.
Maybe the admins can put that in as a wildcard, if they can.

That appears to work only if you have all the characters. For example,
*aylon site:carolinafirearmsforum.com
returns nothing.

If you're actually looking for someone vs asking a general question, just give us the partial name. We might be able to fill in those blanks for ya.
