1975 or 1979? ‘79 is when Ambassador Dubs … US Ambassador to Afghanistan … was abducted in Kabul (at the exact same time Iranian stormed the US Embassy in Tehran) and was subsequently killed. The Taliban are not “conventional” types … they are among the innocents to dug in the hills. Like Vietnam we could have ended them pretty damn quick if we would have carpet bombed the country into a grease spot but with today’s media and the world’s PC BS we can’t … just like today Hiroshima and Nagasaki would likely not happen either … I believe political actions now take precedence over everything else even our soldiers lives.
