After years off duty, the reloading outfit is finally and permanently disposed of. Former reloading room is repurposed for Gunsmithing and Furnature final assembly and finishing.

With a Florish ...

"The Modern Shaker" is back in business. Good start for Valentine's and a simpler project to recalibrate long unused brain, hands and tools. Shaker Bench in the works. Solid wood, poplar (paints really well) and I'll probably use Milk or Chalk paint with a low luster finish for easy clean up.

Legs tapered inside to lighten the look and the foot of each leg undercut so the bench appears to float 1/4 inch above the floor. {I have a rubber tray to place under the bench, since we have new floors and have decided to have inside and outside shoes, now we'll have a place to change and store them.}

A combination of traditional and modern joinery using Mortise and Tenon and Kreg joints for long term durability (my ever burgeoning stature).

GoodWife is out getting paint and upholstery, so, we'll know what color by tonight. Should be done on 14 Feb 2021, ready to sit on. Happy Valentines Day! Love ya!
