Had a 12x20 on order since December....had it delivered thus past week. Decided to add some light etc. One single receptical one with a switch and a 4ft LED shop light from Lowes. Total cost was less than $40. Already had the wire and clips.

For ventilation I looked at solar attic fans they would work great but a bit more $ than I wanted to spend. Found a set of two fans with 10w panel for 25ish...ordered two and they fit perfectly into the vent cutouts! They work great to keep the temp down not great but just enough for storage needs.

Also added solar security lights. The front one is set for 10% then 100% when movement is detected the side is set for 30%. They work well and stay on all night.

Word of advice. I had a shed that had the same turn handle lock on it. I came home one day and someone had fit something over it and turned it with ease. Stole all my power equipment. Replace that lock and maybe attach to your home security system. Thats what we did and never had an issue.
good looking shed!

Yeah, you'll prolly find out theres not enough power in there at some point lol.
I built a workbench against one of the short walls with two receptacles over it, another recpacle just inside to door on both sides, two more on the opposite wall, and one outdoor plug outside.

Figured out real quick that yard tools eat up a lot of wall space if youre hanging them, so built a little corner like such for them. Real space saver.

Made the little closet the depth of a blue rubbermaid tote and continued that shelving down the wall with slots for fifteen totes. Makes getting and putting up Christmas/Easter/Halloween/Thanksgiving decorations much easier.

Made it the same height as the loft, topped it with plywood, and created about 30 sqft extra storage on top of it, too.

These little sheds are a blank canvas.

Maybe get some hollywood dummies and hang them up on meat hooks just inside the door next to some meat carving tools and a freezer.

I, too, am curious which fans you're using, as I've got a shed that I feel needs active cooling. Can you provide a link to the fans, please?

Also, you're not protecting your shed electrical with a GFCI outlet??

Have since upgraded to a larger fan will link it below. The shed is "wired" into a GFI outlet.

Nice! Mine is similar but with different windows and a shingle roof. I bought it almost 15 years ago now. I recently looked at getting another one to have a place to work on mowers/ATVs and was shocked at the prices. Mine was $3000 delivered, to get a similar one today it seems would be about 3X that. Do you mind sharing what you paid?

BTW you might consider plugging the space between the 2 fans so they don't suck back in the same air they blow out, or vice versa. I expect one side is blowing out, the other in?

I read it is he found a set of fans for $25, and bought two (sets). So maybe one side for intake and one side for exhaust…but “side” meaning side of the building. Sounds like you’re assuming that of the two fans right next to each other, one blows out and one pulls in?

But he’s since upgraded to a larger single fan…and I assume he has one on each of the two ends/sides of the building.

Curious as to what you paid as well. I just built a 12x20, went through the permit process as well. I couldn't have picked a worse time to build a wooden structure.

Like you when I said "side" I also meant the other side of the building.

Both fans are pushing hot air out on one side the larger fan is on the other end doing the same. I keep the windows cracked to allow air to pull in.
Price not sure....will post that up when we get back home.

Then how would the gap cause a problem? Genuinely curious…not trying to be argumentative.

I could see it if you had one blowing out and one pulling in within a set on the same side, but not if they were on opposite ends?

The effect is largely minimized by having a fan on the other side blowing air the same direction through the building (one in, one out), but when you have a fan blowing air through a wall it causes a difference in pressure between the two sides and needs to be sealed as well as possible because it is easier for the air to come back in/out the hole right next to the fan than it is for air to be pulled/pushed through the entire building.

In this case he has fans blowing out on both ends of the ceiling and is using the windows for air intake which is fine, but if he leaves gaps right next to the fans some of that hot air he's blowing out will come right back in the shortest path. It will work OK as is but just not as efficiently.

Shed was $6200 with upgrades/additions.
Correction with tax and all delivery (free) total price was right @ $7k

Thanks for the link to the fans. I ordered two of the bigger fan kits for the building my wife just bought. Going to set it up like you with them exhausting at the gable ends and put in a fresh air vent or maybe just leave a window cracked a little.

The bigger fan is definitely better! I am probably going to order another big one. The smaller ones will get used when camping possibly.

Mike 79................any finished pics on that shed work?
