Shootout in downtown Atlanta movie set

Hopefully you would notice the truck with the mounted boom pole and camera following the action.
 
Any word on what the project is?
 
My neighbors daughter used to live in a fancy hi-rise apt. building smack in downtown Atlanta. 26th floor.
She just moved out about 3 weeks ago, but still stays on their website they have set up for the residents.
One of the other residents saw someone breaking into a car from her window. She calls 911, and no-one answered. No cops, no fireman, no answering machine, nothing.

Every single robin sage they put out an announcement in the new papers. Every single hit we do there are large, easy to read signs stating "Military Exercise in progress" and still some moron calls the cops almost every single time.

Didn't a trainee get killed a while back by LEO? The LEO wasn't aware there was an exercise, and the trainee thought it was part of the scenario? So trainee drew down on LEO?

Years ago. I've been doing this for almost 10 years and IIRC that happened about 10 years before I started.

It was a failure on all fronts and mostly from the army organization end from what I understand and they finally paid the victims family and the surviving person a settlement.

All vehicles used in the exercises are supposed to be marked with a magnetic placard on the rear of the vehicle. This one wasn't and they didn't have one to issue. They were supposed to send out a notification to all local law enforcement detailing where and when exercises would take place. They didn't.

Part of the scenario is that the country's police force is part of the bad guys and working with the military. However, they use older police cars that are colored to be easily identifiable as not local police and much older than what they are currently using. And usually those IPA officers are just wearing blue tshirts and they are generally set up as a road block on a dirt road somewhere.

Where these guys messed up was they were pulled over at night. Since real police don't pull over Sage vehicles they assumed it was scenario without identifying the car, and they failed to notice that it was an officer if regular uniform. They drew on the officer and he, not knowing WTF was going on other than two guys had just drawn and opened fire on him, drew and fired back. His real 9mm bullets trumped their 5.56 blanks. One guy was killed and another seriously wounded.

At least that is my understanding of the chain of events, I could have mixed something up in there.

Since that time, there are double and triple checks put in place to ensure all protocols are followed.
