I've got the bug to build one in AR10, instead of bolt gun. They're getting 2800/2850 with 123=139gr bullets... Out of something that compact would make a SWEET hunting set up, deer, yotes, hogs, even take to matches.

Ive got my grendel for this purpose, but bigger is better! Or atleast an excuse to make a cool a** ar10. Starting the suppressor process this year too, which only adds to my itch to build this.

I love hunting with short barreled rifles because I hunt a lot in the woods and hate a 24” barrel snagging every limb on the way in. Handled a 783 16” in 6.5cm and thinking I may pick one up to hunt with this year, unless I can find another Savage as a donor for a barrel chop.

One of the things I really liked about the 6.5 when I was reading up on them before diving in , is that they don’t lose much by taking the barrel down short.

Damn, now you got me thinking about an AR10 in 6.5.

A 16” gas gun with a can would be a fun tool!

I keep reading on the Grendel and hunting. Seeing people taking deer and dropping them at 300-500 yards with a 12” pistol has me very impressed

Yep the 6.5g has had my interest for a while as well. I haven’t taken the plunge bc I don’t want another caliber to load for.
