SHOT SHOW 2020 - H&K SP5

I think it’ll be quite awhile before these are readily available. People are asking and apparently getting insane prices for them online. One listing today on ar15 has one new for $5800, 2x mrsp...

I agree that they won’t be on shelves for a good while if at all. HK has a bad habit of stopping or limiting production when demand slows (like they did with the SP5k). That is insane! People have lost their minds.lol. I found mine in the height of the craze and can assure that they are coming in, just do the footwork on finding one. Mine came from Blue Ridge Supplies in Allentown Pa. it took me two days of calling with no luck and then Jai reach out to me after seeing a post on the HKPro forum.

I can say that mine is a freaking tack driver. Even shooting cheap-o white box Winchester 9mm, it will surprise you.

I am glad that they are getting around the US import laws and German export laws by importing it as a pistol. I believe one side or the other will eventually stop the importation of subguns and rifle caliber pistols. German export laws suck, so much has to be changed just to have export approval.

Good to hear all around. I’d like to have one. They are the ultimate, iconic pcc. Buy once cry once I suppose. Gonna be awhile yet. Life keeps getting in the way...
 
I think a member here already has a SP5.

I shot my buddy’s suppressed this year. It’s just not my thing. Yes it’s cool & fun but it’s a very, very pricey plinker. He loves it & will never part with it. For $2700 (he got it on sale) and $70 mags (has like 10) & another $500 he put towards accessories, I’ll pass. It’s one of those guns that almost everyone agrees is a great gun. For a few, it’s one that they absolutely must have and will never part with. But most people pass on it bc of its price/value or its utility today vs more modern options. JMHO.

The guy found a thread discussing the firearm he had a question about. Hopefully in the almost four years, some people have experience with it at this point and can share their opinions.
 
I don’t shoot often but when I do it’s always with the sp5.
 
Aside from saying you have a HK what makes these worth 2-3X the price of the clones built with the same tooling that has been used to make HKs in the past ?

I shot a buddy’s MKE and it was pretty nice. I can’t see the HK being worth more than twice the MKE.

The radial delay Banshee I shot the same day was smoother.

Honestly...im a snob.
If Im going to get a MP5 style gun, Im going to get an HK, not a knockoff.
