New in box? Around $1000 to $1200, depending on whether it had a premium finish or was a "Halo" model like "Scorpion" "Legion" ect. But they were NOT hot sellers. Most newbs who wanted 1911s gravitated to Kimbers. And those with 1911 experience wanted Dan Wesson. This is based on 4 years of selling them as a Sig and Kimber Master dealer. Thank God I don't have to do that anymore.
Used? Around $800 + . Again, depending on condition/box docs/mags ect. But with the current stupidity in gun/ammo pricing continuing - albeit at a reduced pace - I'd guess it might be higher right now.
One thing I will say about the Sig 1911. Unlike the vast majority of sub $2K 1911s, they run. Right out of the box. And we never had one returned. Especially rare for a sub 4.25 inch 1911.
I can't say the same for the other manufacturers. And Kimber is the worst. A real malfunction drill training tool. You got a Kimber that runs? Good for you. Hang onto it. You may never see another. Regards 18DAI
