Anyone in the Burlington-ish area have Sig P238? Missus has taken a fancy to 'em & would like to try one out.

Smart lady! She can try mine out, I love it. How far is that from Wagram?

If you find yourself close to Morganton, let me know. I would be glad to let her try mine..m

Same with my wife. She carries a Walther CCP & loves it, but she's got a thing for pretty guns. Silly maybe, but at least she's not into single action revolvers or lever actions ;)
That gun is terrible for a woman to rack. It’s size, having a hammer, and spring makes it difficult. They have actually colored the guns to appeal to the female. They have what 999 colors?

Every time I see a woman looking or talking about getting a weapon at a gun show they are hovering around the P238 or it’s older sister the P938. I feel the gun is overpriced on the exotic colors because women will pay for thrills and men will write a check for it if it gets them a 11:00pm wrestling match.

I've never seen a p238 in colors! Lol. Mine is plain old brown-ish. Works for me, though! I better go see what colors I can potentially get if I ever get another one!! Just kidding.....

All roads lead here on the 26th. Sure to have one here.

I've got to work, unfortunately.

They don't look at guns like we do, or at least mine doesn't. She wants her mom's S&W 3913 so bad she can't stand it & doesn't understand that she probably won't like shooting it. It'd be a blingy range toy for her, but I've got more than a couple of those myself, so who am I to judge? At least she likes to shoot. Even asked me to build her an AR last year. Lol!

I'd love to score a deal on a pair of 9mm OACP 1911s & have 'em sent out for engraving & nickel plating for a his & her matched pair.

I'm looking at my guns as things that can help save my life it things go sideways. If they look decent, great, but that's not going to necessarily make them shoot better! I like to drool over the pretty ones too, but it's got to work for me and be something I can use.

Read this quietly and slowly. Start now.

Never, ever, ever get the wife involved in your hobby. Ask a golfer about this little secret. First off it takes money away from your stupid, uncontrollable, bank account sucking dry obsession. And you will have to work your fun around her schedule because she will be hurt you did not take her. Or you will become the over bearing instructor who left the range with an angry spouse.

Now if you can get her to enjoy sex as a hobby, gooooo for it.

Lol. You've obviously never met his wife!

Carl, if she doesn't get to shoot one before I come back next month I'll bring mine and you can take it for a test drive till the next trip back.

Lol! She likes to shoot & as long as she gets a little bling every now & again, she doesn't mind what I spend on shooting/guns & the Harley. If that bling sometimes also turns money into smoke, noise & recoil, so much the better.

She's ex-Army as well & knows how to handle herself when things get sideways, so whatever makes shooting fun for her & gets her some quality trigger time is good with me. Hell, she's been bugging me forever to either get her Ruger Mk II threaded or get a threaded upper for it, so she can play with the can on her gun.

@BurnedOutGeek - thank you, brother. That would be too cool. You still got my digits?

8 pound trigger pull on a hinged trigger that will pinch your trigger finger until it bleeds. Traded mine in after two weeks and bought a Springfield Armory
911 .380 with a 5 pound trigger, better sights, trigger shoe and grips by Hogue and a precision broached barrel that lets me cover an 8 inch pie plate at 15 yards.

Another fun little one rm380. It's a bit lighter but prints a little more when compared to the p238. (Threw the 351 in for reference too - sorry about the shadows I'm in the basement)

I’m carrying a P938 in 9 mm. These guns really are great shooters but CC guns they aren’t. As said before, the safety, hammer, hard to rack for a female just make them too hard to remember to do all of that.

Is that j-frame that nasty little fly-weight one you brought to the range that time? That littler MFer was no fun to shoot with full-tilt magnums.

It wouldn't be a carry piece for her. She carries a Walther CCP. P238 would be strictly a range toy for her.

I like pretty guns.
Even tho I have a few Grocks.
I’ve been impressed with the 238 and 938 I have shot. Basically tiny little 1911’s, but not smelling of mothballs and elderberry.
Nicely built pistols.

And if I can get one in pink chameleon finish, well that is just fabulous! It’s needs to match my new Merrels and stretchy jeans.

I'm good with the brown, it's not flashy but I don't care...lol. I can get a flashier holster maybe?

My P238 has rosewood grips and is quite beautiful. I don't get over to Burlington as much as I used to but, we may be able to arrange something.

Lol. Yeah that littlesumbitch (340PD) with full house 357 loads just plain hurt. That one above is the wife's m&p351 in 22 mag, we figure 8 rounds of fiery pain to someone's face is sure to be a bit of a deterrent.

Well, missus has a new P238 today. She's been on about it nonstop since she saw it, so we swung by Mace this afternoon, she fondled/manipulated it a bit & brought it home. Never seen her this excited about a gun before (& this is far from her first). A little bling for my taste, but nice little gun. Even has night sights.

That is pretty!
She's going to love it!!!

My wife has a P238 and likes it. Carries it in her purse. She has no problems racking the slide. When we go to the range, she has her on Lula mag loader and loads her mags herself, all I do is supply the ammo and clean the gun. But, her favorite range guns lately are a Ruger SR22 and a CZ97 45acp. She also has a couple of Witness 9mm that she likes to shoot. The Ruger has helped her a lot with her trigger skills.

I liked the P238 so much, I bought a P938 that is my EDC now.

My riflesmith who just happens to live in Alamance Co. just got one of those heaters. He really likes it and he has bear paws for hands. I have the Sig P290RS in 9mm that evidently they do not make anymore. Very similar size but the 290 is DAO with restrike.

My wife carries the CCP as well. Loves it. Handles as well as a full size. Accurate too.

I like that. Part of me has allways wanted a flashy Mexican 1911 but this would be much more functional/useful.
