Picked up a single six in.32H&R. Has a brass grip frame in birds head style. Case hardened frame. Neat little revolver. But the caliber kinda kills it for me.

Anyone got an experience with one. Knows the value?

I might be posting it to sale/trade.
But for now I will play with it a bit. Maybe see if I can put a short stroke in it for a lower hammer.

Great size and weight. And a pretty firearm.

I have a couple of 'em, including the one below with the same Lightning style grip frame. They are great revolvers in an excellent caliber. I don't know how much more'n $500 they are worth, but it's probably more like $600, since they were $500 a few years ago.

You can load 'em up with (1) 32 acp, (1) 32 S&W, (1) 32 S&W Long, (1) 32 H&R Mag, and (2) 327 Fed Mag [if you ream it to 327]... It's real haid turner if you start with the 32 acp and fire steady!

Pop! Bang! Pow! BLAM! KABOOM! KABOOM!

Did you do anything other than ream the chamber? For the .327?

extended chamber about 0.1" until 327 brass would seat... nothing else... 327 OAL needs to be on the short end... trimming ogives and reloading both work well.

.32 Long is a very accurate caliber. I've seen a lot of old write ups about the .32 long loaded with lead round nose bullets praising the accuracy of the round.

I read an article written by an old time gun writer back in the day about loading up .32 long cases with a pinch of bullseye (I think) and a 00 buck pellet pressed into the case mouth. He would shoot them at a target in his office at the gun magazine. He said it was really accurate.
