I bought my SKS from Roses!!!.... back in the day! I love that gun...even if it is a Chinese one

DS

Only one that's grown on me is the original russian kind.

Had a Russian like an idiot I sold it for a nice profit. Have a Chinese and Yugo 59/66. Love em. Yugo wears Tapco stock with removable magazines. Would highly recommend this stock. Check it out if you don't know about it.

First gun I ever bought was an M59/66! That thing still makes it out to the range with me, and still looks prettier than the day I brought it home. Probably because it was packed with about 50 pounds of cosmoline at the time.

Everybody should own one of those. Got 3 myself...love those things. Always a blast to shoot.

My first two guns were both 59/66's. I did such terrible things to those guns, Bubba was with me.

I bought my 1st one there too. It was $49 for a new Norinco. I bought a MAK90 the next year for $89 there... The good ol' days before Clinton ruined everything...

Got rid of mine. Miss fires from it pulling the primers out and the firing pin sticking from the dirty ammo. When it fired, it was accurate and easy to handle. It was fun bringing it to life from the greasy sleep though.

Got a 1954 Russian with all matching numbers. Shoots better than any other sks I have handled

I have a Norinco Sport that I got about 20 years ago. I had maybe 5 others before this one and sold them. It uses the AK magazines and has never ftf. I wish that I still had the wood stock that came with it. Back then it was cool to have the black plastic stocks. It is very accurate with iron sights.
No idea the value.

I agree. I had a Chinese one years ago and sold it. As a replacement, I bought a Yugo 59/66. However, I'd like to trade it for something Chinese or Russian. It's in awesome condition, but I really don't like the Yugo flash hider thing. Any interest?

I cleaned about 25# of cosmo out of it and ran 20 rounds through it. Functions perfectly.

I found my pics of.... the horror..... the horror....

Yogo 59/66 and a Chinese /23\ sks, yogo stock and just removed the 10 round mag on the Chinese and use pro mag 30 rounders....I like them better than ak's I have had.

Glad I'm not going to the gun show tomorrow... I'd probably leave with a Chinese or Russian SKS.

Ive always been a big fan of the SKS instead of the AK just because its different. I used mine in Military iron sight competitions where we shot at 200 and 300 yard steel targets, most all the competitors used the Ar and Fn , I never won but I did OK. Both my Chinese and Yugo I fitted with the Tapco stocks because they were longer and fit my 6 foot tall frame much better . Tapco magazines were fitted to both for ease of reloads. The best improvement I made to both rifles accuracy wise was the thinner front sight post that you could buy from Tech Sights for about $6. The original front sight post thickness will completely cover a 4 inch target at 50 yards making it hard to judge at 100 yard targets and beyond.. No difference in accuracy from my Chinese chrome lined paratroop(shorter barrel) model then the NIB longer barrel Yugo I was able to score way back then. But both were more accurate then any AK 47 I competed against.
