PSA has "bring back" SKS rifles for $350, and it was about $400 delivered to my FFL here in NC. Hasn't arrived yet. Anybody else pick one up?

I am excited due to the online reviews being very favorable once they are de-caked of Cosmo.

Favorable price by today's SKS market if you are willing to apply some June sunshine to the problem.

Would love to see some photos of the before & after! I hope you get a good one, as PSA's lack of returns or support for their surplus guns is troubling if you're simply unlucky and wind up with a greasy lemon.

I do miss the days of spending hours up to my elbows in cosmoline, carefully uncovering the treasure that awaits underneath. You'll likely be the first person in decades, and the first American ever to witness all those stamps and proof marks and everything else that makes these guns so cool.

Concur. Current reviews stand at 2x 4-star 5x5-star as far as happy with the condition. I spent the whole time I had my C&R looking for perfect wood, etc. My 51/52 Soviet has some flaws in the lacquer but that's about it. Also worth double to triple what I paid 15 years ago.

Good reason to get your C&R FFL 03, lots of fine firearms circa 1969 and earlier.

Overall I am very happy so far. It did not come with a cleaning kit, but I had one as part of a Hungarian Underfolder kit and also liberated it from grease. The condition was cruddy as hell, but that's the fun we discussed. Has a bunch of dirt on the buttplate. I wonder what country it is from?

Was able to slowly but surely get it disassembled down to the stock + receiver. Goop that looked like spent motor oil was everywhere.

Good news: appears to be all matching for $410 transferred.

And to think I paid $250 for a great Norinco about 10 yrs ago.

I used to frequent an LGS that would occasionally run special sales. Two for $125. They would have several pallets of crates on the floor.

Those were the days. I'd like another SKS to replace the ones I've had to sell in the past, but you can build most of a decent AR for the same money....

I still have the Norinco SKS that I bought with my father in the 90's. I think It was $99 out the door, I was a young teenager, and I'd earned the money helping out on a local tobacco farm.

I've always liked the SKS. They're well built, solid rifles. My only complaint with them is the triggers in them tend to be long and creepy. I think a more crisp, lighter trigger could turn one into one of my favorite shooters.
