Anyone have a slide stop/ release for a late ‘44 Remington Rand? This is the last piece I need to make my gun correct.

It’s a slide release! Just kidding.

Maybe @John Travis would know or have one.

Sorry, I think I have a couple parkerized USGI stops, but I don't know who made'em.

If the color matches...how would anybody know? They weren't marked.

I believe they are identifiable by the amount of serrations. Not too sure. Anyone?

According to others, the photo shows the correct part with the proper amount of serrations.

I have an unused still-in-the grease Remington Rand firing pin that I stumbled across yesterday.

Would it help you with your originality search? Sorry, no slide stop.

Clawson's 3rd edition only mentions that serrated slidestops, mainspring housings, and safety locks came into use as an alternate (faster) means of production, and makes no distinction based on number of serrations. Only US&S retained checkering on their stops.

Remington Rand began making slidestops in February, 1943 and were in full swing with serrated stops by July of the same year. Due to manufacturing problems between February and June, they were supplemented with slidestops from Ithaca and US&S and they even received 2865 stops from Springfield Armory left over from WW1 contracts.

So, if you have an early Rand, the correct stop could be checkered or serrated...made by Rand or Ithaca or Union Switch or Springfield.

Thank you for the info according to the Clawson material ...I don’t have access to it. Either way, anyone have an era example, parkerized of course, that they wish to part with? Close example and fair price is all I ask. Thank you.

After I feed these dogs, I'll go have a look to see what I have. I should know in a couple hours.

Well, it looks like I can't help ya. I've got two...both blued and checkered...either early Colt or Union Switch manufacture.

Wish I had better news. If I'd had one, I'd have made it a gift just to see an old Rand restored.

Thanks for trying! Not a big deal, just a work in progress.
