So whats the new hottness in slings for the AR world. I currently have a blue force vickers on one carbine, looking to outfit a second gun. I like the vickers, could buy another one i guess. What are you guys running?

Why does the vtac seem so complicated? It really is not, but it just appears to have a lot going on vs the magpul slider and the blue force.

I'm not sure. Seems simple enough to me. Pull the cord to tighten, squeeze to release. What's hard about it? Now I have a couple of Troy slings I can't even figure out how to attach, but the VTAC is fine...

I have never used a vtac, just watched a quick video and it looked complex. Just a quick perception. Im sure its as easy as you make it sound.

Because it's a crap design and not worth a damn. Look at it closely, it's a backpack shoulder strap from the ALICE ruck sack.

That's a fact.

That's why.

I have ran them all, I like most of them. I now use MS1 on all my rifles. Better fabric, better sliders, better keepers then Vickers, V-Tac, and whom ever else.

Thank you sir. Clear and to the point. Do you sell qd attachments so i can order everything from you?

Let me also say this about the V-TAC sling.

I ran one on a Colt 6920 for 3 years. As issued to us. 70% of a Nuclear Security Officers job when not sitting down is walking with a slung rifle.

I have many walking miles with a V-TAC sling. I am not a fan of it at all.

Now we use MS1 slings.

LOL... Well I'm not a big time operator like John, so I'll just keep my ALICE backpack strap... Maybe in a few more years he'll come back around and start recommending them again... Like the handful of other things I also bought back back in the day on his advice that seem to be crap now that he's taken a new class with whoever the latest cool operator dude is I can't afford to shoot with... Keep it classy though, J...

Lol

At the time it might of been the best option. Not any more, I had 1 fail me at work, the nylon wore out near the front keeper.

From that point on I have not been a fan. But that's my way, things evolve, to include points of view

Operating in the nuclear industry again?

Oh, and by the way, I noticed your crappy sling was attached in the wrong place!
Ahahahahahaha!!!
(Inside joke)

If i took your advice instead of @JBoyette would it make you feel better?? John is a salseman. I just allowed myself to be sold.

Just don't buy a Condor. I figured "how can I go wrong for 15$"??

I went wrong. Maybe it will fit John or Bigfelipe.

But neither of those guys would be seen with a Condor.

I'm cool with condor... I just don't do UTG... Except for that damn "Ruger" bipod...

I have some Condor gear that I really like. Especially a new flex band cap I bought at the last gun show for $12. Actually fits my massive head.

That's unique. The "L/XL" in China is for two.

Lol

I have
1 VTAC, and 2 B Slings (SOB TACTICAL) <--Price was just right for me... Free. as a gift from a dude who does stuff in places with people...
2 that I made
1 outta 550 cord.

not a gear snob.

I've got a padded VTAC, like it alright, easy enough to use, maybe doesn't go as tight as I would like.

Also have a padded Blue Force, it's probably a better sling, seems stouter, greater range, possibly more intuitive though neither are complex.

Got a couple MS2s, or hell they may be knock offs, pretty sure they aren't made anymore, not a big fan, shouldn't have bought a sling with sewn in attachment hardware, dislike slick material with propensity to fray.

I'll be honest that 70% of me bought a "kley zion" because zion is in the name and it triggers the leftists and anti-jew "conservatives" alike.

Unless some of those $30-$50 slings are truly made of much better material, I don't see why I'd spend two or three times as much except for that wire loop on the Vicker's AK sling that I can't get anywhere else.

Unless they have updated the MS1 since 2010 or so when I got my first one, I wouldn't have another one if you gave it to me. Too thin, hardware was clanky, and overall it was crap. I like the MS4 and also have an Alientacs with Magpul clip adapters (but you can get the QD adapters) that are nice.

You can buy the just the loop cant you? Circle it through the gas block and barrel, add existing sling.

The first MS1 was junk, one of the worst designs ever. now its a much better product.

Got that Kley Zion (Botach) sling in. It is meh. Adjusts well but the buckles seem kinda cheap. Time will tell. - I'll take Boyettes advice next time and get the MS1 at his shop. I may find another gun for this one to go on. Not sure if it suits a fighting carbine.
