Smaller magazine capacity for Savage 10 FCP-SR

In addition to the 10 round mag that came with the rifle, can anyone tell me if this magazine will also work?

Looks like it would work just fine. I don't know why you would want a smaller magazine. I'd like to have 3-4 ten rounders.
