I want to compare all kinds of different bullets and speeds now
I liked the revolver shot...
That was awesome! Thanks....
I just nerded the effe out on that video. Man I love that kind of stuff. Really makes me wish I'd gone to college and studied Aerodynamics.
The bullet is flying subsonic, but the air speed passing over the ogive becomes supersonic .... VERY cool!
Very cool! He had a good one on suppressors as well.
Wow. Just wow. Thanks for posting the link.
great video. Thanks for sharing

It looked like with the SUBSONIC bullet, there are still supersonic waves due to the particulates and the air moving out from in front of the bullet. I wonder if they tested one at 1000fps vs 850fps how different it would look, and if that would translate to a reduction in noise at all (due to the powder variation, that would have to be excluded some how). Probably not, as it’s happening so fast the sounds blend together, but it’s interesting to think about
It also sucks that the people who watch his videos complained enough he had to put a “I’m not glorifying guns” disclaimer out there. The so called intellectuals can’t let go of anything...they see a gun and freak out.
My father passed a few weeks ago. He has a patent on a mach speed sensor from his prat and whitney days. Uses that shockwave angle to measure the speed of supersonic aircraft...er as far as I can tell. Math is the same.
How does powder get in front of the bullet? Assuming that the powder isn't from the round shot before. ???????
Here is link for the patent.
