So can we shoot at people breaking into our cars? Or just if you're family of a president who supports gun control?

I think @barf just pointed out that ultimately it was a choice and not forced. We all weigh our own value/risk propositions. Last time I went, I chose differently.
It could be said that taxation is not “forced" either.

It’s only if you’re caught.

Why didn't they just discharge a double barreled shotgun into the air as President Zomb... Biden recommends?

Apparently he did.

Biden's quote was to "fire two blasts outside the house". Well, this highly trained bodyguard of the President's family was probably following Presidential doctrine since he surely wouldn't have missed otherwise.

"During this encounter, a federal agent discharged a service weapon and it is believed no one was struck."

He wasn't using a double barrel. The bullsh.... Proper procedure only works with the mythical double barrel like Corn Pop used to use to protect the Sundown Town.

Nah, no dueling pistols. If someone wants to change what I said they are free to. Doesn't make it correct, just makes it their point of view.

When they pick agents for political orthodoxy/keeping the mouth shut about some people's crimes rather than skill at being an agent this sort of thing happens.

sorry, I'm new here...is there a Dueling Pistols at High Noon sub-forum?

I'm asking for a friend....ummm two of them..
we do have a guy who can get you all the dueling pistols you could ask for. but it won't be in this thread, and you might not like it...

I am trying to think of a scenario where this would be justified... unless there was some VERY classified material inside the vehicle (like 'football' levels of classified) any normal cop would've said stop, and let them run. WAY less paperwork and not like you have to pay for the window. Then again this is federal within DC so who knows what the hell the agent was thinking. Rules for thee and not for me type of thing.

Man I am glad the neighbors dog made it thru the event ok! I am sure the SS agent was shooting at the dog so as not to scare the criminals away.

Ok sarcasm off

I'm not clear on what the point is about the .gov telling the media about this. With the facts presented it's a 100% bad shoot, so either they:

1. are lying
2. are displaying the caste system we have in the 'justice' system
3. as #1 but covering up for something other than incompetence
4. want to garner sympathy for the poor spawn of the elites and why only the SS should have guns

They're the SS so even if someone saw it and inquired they could just say 'national security' and call it a day.

The current edition of the Newspeak Dictionary has replaced the word Justice with Justus. To avoid a charge of Thoughtcrime please use the correct spelling.

Well, it's not like it's great reporting. But DC has rampant car break ins and thefts right now.

Says "encountered" which usually means pretty close contact. If he confronted the 3 and they turned on him, probably good shoot. Also did not see where it says they were not armed.

If the car had the cool toys in it, I'm good with the shoot on the principle that I would rather they shoot them than scumbags get more weapons. And, it's a gun fight even if the thugs don't know it yet.

If it was just personal crap and the agent was not threatened that would be an issue.

If we shot to protect firearms from falling into criminal hands we'd get charged with murder. These SS goons need to be subject to the same laws as the rest of us.

I hear this a lot. But what I see are a lot of normal people "getting away" with questionable shoots too. As a juror, I'd allow it. And again, I'd allow 3 on 1 as a disparity of force too. And I'm not going to get too riled up over a half hearted article that answers none of my questions.

How do you miss with that P90???
If the trigger in a P90 is anything close to the one in a PS90, it’s a wonder anybody ever hits anything. 🤣

So yeah I'd be curious as well

- did 3 guys jump him at close range
- were they armed?
- did the vehicle per chance have the rack with the select fire rifles for the whole detail in the trunk?

And we will never know, not with the reporting these days.

some thoughts on further reading about this incident, reading a story on this here:

I noted Codrea's last sentence:

And does that granddaughter who doesn’t rate a Christmas stocking get Secret Service protection, too?

Which reminded me of the other thing I found interesting....SS protection for the granddaughter? Hmmmm ok. But yeah, only "legitimate" ones??

So I go to the stocking story link:

and good lord talk about some messed up stuff....

Hunter Biden’s 3-year-old daughter, Navy Jones Roberts — who was born out of wedlock to a stripper — was reportedly not included in the festive display. The family reportedly has not met the child.

The stripper named her kid Navy....In honor of her best patrons no doubt. My uncle would have been proud.

Hunter, 51, initially denied that he was the father of Navy because he said he had “no recollection” of meeting her mother, Arkansas native Lunden Alexis Roberts.

Father of the Navy....hehe....

“That’s how little connection I had with anyone. I was a mess, but a mess I’ve taken responsibility for,” he wrote of his drug-fueled sex “rampages” in his 2021 memoir “Beautiful Things.”

Drug fueled sex rampages = Beautiful Things. Well, I guess you can find common ground with just about anyone.

The first son, who is now married to South African model and filmmaker Melissa Cohen, later took responsibility for fathering Navy following a DNA test and settled with Roberts for an undisclosed sum last year.

Fathering Navy....hehe....

Roberts was on the payroll at Hunter’s consulting firm during her 2018 pregnancy but was kicked off the company’s insurance plan after she gave birth, according to text messages reviewed by The Post.

Holy crap, knocks up an underling, and then kicks her to the curb. "Binder's full of women" starts to look pretty tame.
