I decided that I really need a fire pit. Yesterday’s project was to build one. I’m please with how it turned out and it’s maiden voyage was a success. My daughter approves as well.

She asked to help and I said the bricks were to heavy for her. She went over and picked one up just to prove me wrong. I have to stop underestimating her.

You didn't underestimate her. They're stubborn as a mule. It's a gender trait that they're born with.

Nice design. I don't think I would have thought of it but now that I have... I would lay down a course of pavers and set the blocks on top of those.

Very nice. You are very close to have a whole hog cooker there too. Create a grate system and maybe another layer or two for a cover of some kind and you are eating greasy meat in no time!

That looks great!

A word of caution. Be mindful not to let the fire get to hot, to fast. If the moisture in the blocks doesn't slowly dry out each time. The steam will crack em all and you'll have a rubble fire pit. Ask me how I know
