Decided to take the 22 rifles to the range today to confirm/verify zero. Went to Palmetto in Denver on their rifle side. Same shooter, same ammo (Remington Thunderbolts), same distance (50 yards). 3 different guns, 3 different results. Bottom left is Marlin 70hc first rifle I ever owned, bought in 1987. Middle is Ruger 10/22 Tactical, bottom right is Savage FVSR. I'm pretty impressed with the Savage.

sometimes it's the ammo in the gun. Some guns shoot better with one ammo than other guns do. Some guns shoot better with one ammo than with other ammos. Some guns shoot worse with one ammo than with other ammos.

Every Savage I've owned, centerfire and rimfire, has been a tack driver. If they fixed their magazines and extraction issues on rimfire I'd bet they'd explode in popularity with the precision crowd.

My FIL used to say Savage's looked like they were built by a blacksmith, but shoot like they were built by a good gunsmith.
