I know a lot of you stay well updated on developments, industry news etc .
Does anyone know why HK hasn’t introduced anything new in pistols in a few years? Did I miss something?
I could be wrong - but it seems like they came out with the VP SK series… then stopped development.
I’d love to seee a single stacked - P365 sized pistol with the HK mag release system.. is there one and I’ve missed it?

as an update- I just saw on another thread that they’d announced a micro a few years ago… that was never released ( or has been delayed?) ?
They announced it at Shot 2023. There was no release date and I can’t find any updated information.

With respect to pistols, what do we need from HK? They have top quality striker- and hammer-fired models in full size, long slide and subcompact sizes. They aren’t going to prioritize the CCW market and bother competing with Sig or Glock for tiny 1.5 stack 9mm pistols like the 365. It’s just not what HK typically does. If they really cared about civilian sales it would be obvious by now.

Good points! … I’d certainly be their market. :) - I need to change up my EDC from an Sig 938( I don’t often shoot 1911 style guns, and want my EDC to have the same controls/ handling as my usual range/ house pistols) and love the mag release/ ergonomics of my vP … but the sk is just a tad chunky for my needs.

A P30 and P30L are my main carry pistols. Not because they are my favorite to shoot (a 92 variant or CZ P-09 get that pick) but the P30 design is just bombproof and ridiculously safe with respect to margin of human error. While it may sound obnoxious, I‘m convinced that most instances of pistol downsizing for carry is driven by having a suboptimal holster or carry method (or both). With an optimized holster and belt, a full size pistol should be comfortably concealable. I would really suggest continuing to work on carrying your full size pistol and I’m confident you’ll find a way.

Thanks @92G ! - my collection of holsters, belts etc could open a fashion store. :)

But I wasn’t asking because of downsizing… my EDC is a sub compact 1911 style. Was hoping to get the HK style in a sub compact…. And hoping it would one day be a reality.

Depending on a persons’ circumstances, there are times when something slim enough to be better concealed - and light enough to be comfortable than what’s possible with a full sized is the only reasonable route. :)

Colt went kaputt twice that way, relying too much on military contracts.

Recently, there are fairly reliable sources on the HKPro forum that say their Micro-9 (the SFP9cc/VP9cc) will be released in 2025.

so hk is trying the psa approach?
introduce it, sit on it, and maybe get around to it a few years later?

Bunch of damn fools.... They obviously don't realize they could make Bringin Back the McRib look like a marketing amateur hour compared to the pent up demand for Bringing Back the P7.

I like to believe that they are slow because they are so very focused on R&D and reliability that reacting to market trends takes a back seat. (Kinda like Toyota / Lexus)

It's my understanding from a TFB TV video made at a tradeshow in Germany that the SFP9cc is in production for German police. They're taking feedback from that contract before they finalize and go wide release.

someone is trying to out McRib HK:

HK hates you.

They'll introduce something new when they feel like it, to hell with your wants and needs.
