Stuff was delivered while at work tonight going to install do the call in to activate hopefully goes smoothly lol. Anyone have prior experience with doing this?

I've swapped out my owned modem a few times. No problem having them activate it.

As long as the signal is good coming in. I've done it several times for myself and a couple of friends. It should work as advertised. 1...2...3.... browse.

If you have any issues and you still have my number. You can text and I'll do what I can.

By the way, you're better off buying a modem and separate router than renting their junk.

Through a buddy of mine I grabbed a new router and wifi access point. Damn they are so much more reliable and far reaching than any of crap I ever had from Time Warner/Spectrum or AT&T. Get what you pay for at times.

I recently switched from their business class to residential. I already had a wireless router configured on the LAN side of the switch. I simply unplugged the old modem and plugged the new one into the WAN side. In my case I had to change the WAN configuration from static IP to dynamic, but that’s not a big deal. The new modem came up, the lights came on it reset and then they came on and stayed on. I think it must have had some sort of update. I was browsing as if nothing happened in less than 5 minutes.

Oh, if you use their wireless router which they will send it’s a 5/mo surcharge. I returned it with the old modem.

too late on their equipment already have it lol
When you get tired of paying the rental or the poor performance, just buy your own and drop theirs off at the local office. Easy Peasy. ;)

Arris modems (ex-Motorola). There'll be a list of approved modems somewhere on the ISP's website. You'll want one rated at least for the speed you're buying. They're often promoted and there are sometimes deals on factory refurbs that work perfectly. About routers (most experts agree that separate modem and router are best), that depends on what you're trying to do (i.e., do you need wifi and if so covering how big a space, etc.).
