Has anyone used the new Saint Edge Pistol 5.56? This looks like a sweet little unit.

I just dont get the point of the "Saint Edge" pistol. Its so expensive in the $900-$1200 range. And theres nothing special about it besides the maxim brace, and the billet lower. It looks similar to every other AR pistol Ive seen just except really expensive. They act like its made with titanium. You can build something very similar for less.

Its resale value. A branded rifle can resale for more then a home build.

If you take the home build price pistol is = to distributor pricing. The retailer needs to have some meat on the bone.

Thats alot of meat for the retailer IMO.
For $1,379? Thats just crazy.

Crazy from the customer or the retailers point of view?

Its like when you buy a vehicle. Msrp, map, wholesale buy / sale then cost.

An example of how to price a product.

Cost $10
60% profit to the manufacturer
Wholesale $16

Wholesale buy $16 (this is the ttb tax cost rate of 11%)

Fed TTB takes $1.59 from every firearm manufactured.

So the manufacturer gross $16 pays $1.59 in manufacturing tax and then nets $4.41

Wholesaler margin is 30%
Buys at $16 flips to retail shop at $18.56
Wholesaler made $2.56

Retail shop buys at $18.56 to end user ads 10% flips it for $20.41 retail shop made $1.85

Msrp is $25 and you think you got a deal by saving $4.59
