Stage design software

I use sketchup. I have used tridentstagedesigner.com in the past. Real easy to use , but very limited. I tried gunracer also, same thoughts.

With sketchup, you can twist, turn, flip, walk thru, measure, plus much much more. Many many options. 3dwarehouse.com/uspsa has all kinds of stuff to down load and alter or to use as is.

But there is a learning curve. If you just sit down a play with it, in about an hour you will start to figure it out.

Sketchup has a steep learning curve but it also has the most potential upside. Especially if you need to plan out the stages and work out angles and distances before they're on the ground (because you don't have much time to tweak them during setup before shooting starts), sketchup is the ticket.

I used sketch up a long time ago when I designed and built decks. It had a huge learning curve. But looks like I'll be using it again as my stage designing time is going to increase a lot.

Sketchup. There are several templates on 3Dwarehouse that have all the assets you'll need. After that, it's just copy-paste, and use the rotate and positioning tools.

I still like to draft stages on paper first, though.
