There is AR500, AR550, etc...

Is there a way to order a custom piece of it measured to my specs? Say I wanted a piece a certain size... I know you can get them cut like bears, zombies, etc but my idea is less wild.

anyone know of a company that does that?
 
I haven’t heard of anyone who does custom cuts and if they did it would be wildly expensive.

About 12yr ago, I did a few runs of 1/2” AR500 targets because so many places were only offering 3/8” and I learned that the extra 1/8” made a huge difference with rifles. In that experience working with a couple different shops, I learned that setup times and cut time largely decide your total cost. If you cut 1 piece out of a sheet, you’d pay only a little less than if they cut the entire sheet. Imagine applying the cut costs to a single piece versus 20-40 pieces.

Out of curiosity, what custom design are you wanting to get?

There is a place near Rolesville that can cut up to 1/2” steel with a laser. They use CAD to layout the cut lines and are pretty quick about it.

I don’t have their number handy, but @Get Off My Lawn knows them.
