Ive run steel cased ammo (ie: tul/ wolf) in all of my guns at some point, and will continue to do so because it's cheap.
I dont reload, Im not going to be spending a ton of time picking up brass etc.

But I picked up this HK the other day and was reading manual (first time for everything, right?).
I know it's a roller lock design in the way the action is. Manual stated no steel or aluminum cased ammo - is there really a big difference in the way the two feed?

If I recall correctly, the manuals for my VP9 and SK state the same.

You really blew up the HK forum. :D

@HMP really got them going with the deal he found on his new gun. :)

What were they saying?

According to the spreadsheet, I've got 10,943 rounds of random steel ammo through my G34 so far. Kind addicted to the stuff myself.
I was called a liar on multiple threads because of the price I paid.

For reference, Jerek quoted me just over (20/25 over) dealer cost at 2020/2025
Cheapest Ive heard of a store having them was 2400, Perry's in Wendell has one
On GB they are all over the place, STARTING at 2400 (there and ArmList).

Btw I've shot a lot of alum with no issues at all, at least 1500, I didn't have much luck with the Winchester steel case but it didn't run well in the other pistols either

The only ammo Iā€™ve ever shot and said ā€œthis is garbageā€ has been that Winchester Forged stuff. It still went bang, but it was covered in a fine powder if some sort. Now Iā€™m not one to shy away from dirty ammo normally because donā€™t mind cleaning my firearms, but needing a towel to wipe my hands off on after loading a magazine seemed a bit much.

It's the only ammo I won't buy again. I couldn't get it to cycle through 3 guns.?i have 90 of the 150 left.

Is steel supposed to be bad for roller-locks in general? Because many a PTR (308) run better on the stuff cause it doesn't expand into the flutes.

I don't know anything about the 9mm though; interested to see the difference it makes.

No idea, I was just asking based on the owner's manual.

Reading around HKpro this morning, seems a lot have used it in their MP5 styled guns
