Stick with my pvs14 or "upgrade" to anvis9?

Had a question hopefully to help decide which way I should go.
I currently have an Omni VII Pvs-14 which performs very well. I have a chance to snag an Anvis 9 Omni VII set for about 1.5k on top of what I can get for the PVS. I've heard mixed opinions about using an Anvis as a user nvg setup due to them being intended for aviation use and possibly not the most durable. Also, the lack of an onboard battery deters me a bit.

I may just be chasing the dragon here a little bit trying to get into a Bino setup. My intended use would be for something more durable and not just stargazing.

What do y'all think. Pros and cons? Should I just hold onto the pvs setup and wait for something better to come along?

Thanks!

If you want an ANVS9 why not get one? I like anvs9s, and you can easily sell for another 14 if they aren’t everything you wanted… I would say if you must have a dual housing get the model that offers all of the features you can convince yourself are worth the money. Are you able to look through the ANVS before you buy?

what are you wanting for your curry setup?

I wouldn't let lack of onboard battery be a deterrant since you'll likely want counterweight, anyway. (Why not have your counterweight be something functional, like batteries in a battery pack ... as opposed to just useless lead for weight???)

If the cost is palatable, the specs for the tubes match your requirements/expectations, and the blems in each tube are acceptable to you -- then why not? Are you planning to drag the ANVS through the mud and drop it a lot, or something?

Maybe! You never know. I went ahead and got a high spec elbit WP pvs14 instead of the anvis. Thanks for all the suggestions!
I asked if you were planning to drag the ANVS through the mud and drop it a lot -- and you replied with 'maybe'?

Very strange response, sir, as accidents certainly do happen, but I know of no one who plans (key word: plans) to do the aforementioned to his/her kit. ;)
