I'm looking for a tactical shotgun, not for 3 gun, more for home defense, and range use.

Has Mossberg worked out the problems with the 930's?

I know I’m a little late, but I went through the same about 3yr ago. I’m a JM fan and JM Pros seem to be used a lot in 3G so I figured they had to be solid guns. The more I read about those who actually use them, the more issues I found. As Tim said, you can surely make them reliable, but it takes some tweaking.
The Stoeger, being an inertia gun, will have a little more recoil but it is a great gun and mine has never failed me. I have an M3000, prior to the M3k models that are better set up for 3G. Can’t imagine ever selling it considering the value.

Ive heard of issues with the JM, but why the JM over just a basic 930? The basic 930 is a shorter barrel for easier mobility still holds 8 rounds (9 if you ghost load) and IS reliable... Ive not shot a Stoeger semi but their quality with the doubles ive seen is good. I snapped a couple pics of my 930. Ported barrel, side saddle, front rail, oversized bolt handle, top rail, fiber optic front bead. This thing has been a monster and the only problem ive had is keeping her clean.

My JM Pro is and has been rock solid....but only a few 100 rounds though mine. Can’t afford to put 1000 rounds though one to see if it malfunctions.....

Im excited to see the new 940 JM. Im more interested in the sport shooting application than the home/recreational use but it seems like its a better 930 JM.
