If a firearm you, or someone you know, owns and it has been stolen, please post in this thread.

While some are hesitant to share serial numbers over the internet, please know that the more information shared increases the chance of finding the firearm.

As always, please contact your local authority first regarding any stolen firearm.

My daughter had 2 firearms stole sometime this weekend. They think it was Saturday night around 10:30.

M&P 9mm C s/n: DTS1742

M&P 15-22 purple and black zebra stripe s/n: HCF7124

On a more serious note:

S&W Mdl 19-2, 2.5" barrel, pinned & recessed, Hogue rosewood grips, serial #64817. In the family since new, exc. condition at time of theft, first handgun I ever shot.
Stolen in burglary in West Asheville 7/19/2007

It was probably all those anti gun hippie types up there trying to rid the world of guns. Stinkin hippies.
More likely a crackhead, not that it matters to me. They also stole my Dad's Rolex, which he bought in '68 or '69 and I inherited.

That was a dark day.

Father has a Bushmaster XM-15 A2 service rifle with an M4 stock and a stainless Taurus PT100 out there. Taurus was 10 years back, no hope held for it. Bushmaster was loaned to a friend along with another rifle, friend died last year and his son stole them and sold the other rifle to a pawn shop we frequent, the AR is still in the wild presumably.

If this is yours, CMPD has it in their possession. Just saw it on the unclaimed property list. Was collected 9/1/17.

Buddy of mine had a break in yesterday evening in guilford county. He had a POF carbine stole a sig 938 and a kimber 45. If anyone sees a pof at a pawn shop let me know

this is not a theft per se...

I bought a revolver from a company in Arizona. They shipped it USPS. Tracking number says it was delivered today shortly before noon. I have a letter from the post office now with the tracking number and scanned signature (it is a form letter generated by the post office with the person who signed for it scanned signature). Post Office is adamant it was delivered. My FFL is adamant it WAS NOT... I am caught in the middle as the FFL in arizona did not insure it.

edit: I guess if it does not show up on Tuesday 1/2/18, I will have the FFL in Arizona enter the serial # as stolen.

If you have a scanned signature can’t you start at your FFL with that?

Did you buy it with credit card, depending on the card you may have loss protection coverage,
give your card issuer a call and ask them, you may get your money back.

If no coverage with bank card, you can dispute the charge for the time being as it
was not signed for by you. Sometimes shippers will insure the item but tell you they did not,
they get their money back and the customer gets nothing. Only the shipper can file a claim.

Any chance the package was delivered to a shop next to the FFL, lot of temporary carries this time of the year.

No matter what the FFL believes, the package was signed for by an adult, you may want to talk to
the postmaster at your local office, get them to followup with postal inspectors since firearm is missing.
They can talk to FFL and see if there is any video of postal carrier delivering package.

Signature does not mean squat. I had a $600 package with adult signature required "delivered and signed for", but never received it. Turns out the post office left it at a near by vacant house and the driver signed for it herself. When I contacted the post office and they told me she signed for it, I told them that she should be held accountable for the package. The woman at the post office also said that if you pay for signature required, you are wasting your money.

My ffl has looked at his video. Postal delivery came in with and scanned 2 packages. Niether one was my tracking #. I havent seen the video. I requested dflivery confirmation from usps, within a minute a letter was sent to my email with my tracking # and recipient signature.

I bet it was delivered to the address before the FFL.

I got in touch with the shipper today... he had two packages going out last wednesday... one to Kansas, one to SC... the labels got switched. All should be taken care of by the end of the week.
Tracking should show locations and timestamps, glad they figured it out.

A smart thing to do would be to publish the make, model and serial number on each piece where the public could see. Might make tracking them down a little easier. Iknow, Iknow, that's not going to happen but I still think it would be a good idea.

Kimber Ultra Carry with CT grips and tritium sights, SN KU60361. Black ceracote slide, grey frame.

Stolen from my locked truck. Bastiges were considerate enough to lock it back up.

I reported it stolen and filed a report. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from a detective asking if there was any additional information that could help them.

Three months go by and I get a letter from the PD. Is it still stolen? Otherwise it comes off the NICS list.

Well no, sadly it didn't find its way home all by it's lonesome. (Note to Mods, we need a faceplant emoji.)

It's scary that it could come off the list and go back into circulation clean.

Stunned.

Really? Still out there, still stolen, no flag when serial # checked?

What a joke.

You may be stunned. This is my surprised look.

Yup, still stolen and unrecovered, and yup again, no flag when SN checked.

Joke? Maybe if I were on the taxpayer dime I might see the humor (or irony) in it. If I were making funeral arrangements for someone I loved? Not so much.

In all fairness to the local PD, the letter said that the Feds require them to periodically reaffirm that items they enter on the NICS list are still stolen. They also asked if an insurance claim had been paid, and if so which carrier. I probably should have filed a claim but to be honest, I was more PO'd about being violated and the prospect of some crack fiend petty thief graduating to armed robbery than worried about the monetary loss. My first thought about an insurance claim was seeing it on the letter. After almost four months, I think that ship has sailed.

I did file a claim, and got some fine replacements. However, the limit on "jewelry" was far less than the market value of a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, not that that mattered at all. That my Dad's Rolex was stolen & hocked by a [...] chafes my soul to this day (11 years later). I have all the documentation for teh watch and reported all the serial #s for it and the guns.

APD's official response was "Well, you didn't tell us who did it, and we don;t have any leads, so we're not going to pursue it."

Crime does pay.

I can top that one. I had 10 firearms stolen in a breakin and later got 4 back. Three from one agency and one from another only to find out 10 years later that the second agency also found another one and removed it from the list and no one ever told me about it. Found out when my Sheriffs office called one day to update the list (which they do from time to time). Called the agency in question and was told "Our computers crashed and we don't know where it is but we will look and see if we can find it. Still waiting on that one.

Had my car broken into recently and a FEG pa-63 stolen in 9mm Makarov. Serial number can be provided...

Attached is a scan of the guns that were in my dad's safe when it was stolen in April of 1995. Please pardon the typos and incorrect spellings. His eyesight was terrible, and this was done on a typewriter in the early 90's; and he didn't bother to fix the mistakes.

Contact Rolex. All mine are factory registered. When they go in for service or are offered by a dealer the registration is checked. Dealers want to have a registered Rolex because it's value is significantly increased. Same with collectors. Sooner or later the registration will be checked. Their registration does not expire

Had a break in before Christmas and had some guns stolen. I lost threes Smith and Wesson revolvers that weren’t in my safe.

657-3 stainless .41 Magnum 6 1/2“ half lug barrel, rear sight was removed and red dot mounting plate was installed in its place.

Model 10 Blued 38 SPCL 4” heavy barrel square butt with a set of smooth black and grey VZ grips.

Model 60 .357 3” round butt factory Hogue grips.

They’ve got the shithead that stole them, a Rowland, NC pill head, last name is Oxendine. Supposedly he sold them to his cousin in Wilmington , who he won’t name out of fear. Who knows where they’ll show up, but if any of y’all stumble across them in your gun ramblings I’d appreciate a heads up..

The USPS sucks.

S&W revolver, stainless with wood grips, model 686, serial# AFR0626V, .357, stolen by ex girlfriend, N. Raleigh area, was reported to RPD. No arrest or any info, it's been a few years now so I'm assuming it's probably in bottom of lake somewhere.

Colt .45 Auto (Serial number CPE 357)

Stolen while in custody of USPS...... USPS refused insurance claims for 4 months until Senator Lindsey Graham got involved...... Please contact me if you see this for sale...

What’s up guys, new member here so lmk if I did this whole posting thing wrong.

I never leave my rifle in my car but of course the one day I do the car gets broken into.

I had my Bergara HMR in there and called the police immediately. Is there anything else to I can do to increase my chances of getting my rifle back?
(Alamance County NC)
Serial Number is 61 - 06 - 105260 - 23

Never had this happen and wanted to know how likely it is to get this back? Originally from Florida and back there it would be long gone, but Idk about here. How easy is it to get rid of something like this from the viewpoint of the thief? I can't imagine too much crime could be committed with this rifle, unless you count poaching lol.
