Wanted to thank all the folks who posted on my original thread inquiring about a first-time bolt-action rifle that, eventually, led to deciding that the Henry Long Ranger was a good fit for what I was after.

Will do. Be a few days as the cleaning kit is taking longer to arrive than the rifle! In the meantime, guy named TWANGnBANG has a pretty much to-the-point video shooting the .308 version out to 300 yards. See:
