Jesus... What happened to storage container prices? $3k for a used container in Wilmington? They were going for a few hundred not that long ago. The mark up in Raleigh wasn't even that high. Bought a couple 20' cans for $1800 each 2 years ago. Now the same place wants a minimum of $2600.

Anyone know where you can pick them up cheap still? Shipping yard wholesale or something? I can trailer them home. Just not looking to drop that kind of coin.

I can build a 200sqft building/shed for $2k pretty easily. For the current cost they are getting to be pointless.

It got trendy to turn them into houses, preppers apparently love to bury them etc.

Retail pricing rather than warehouse.

I know. Still a small market and there are many thousands of them rolling in every month in Wilmington alone...

Right but I imagine most of those go back and forth between shipping and storage companies rather than the retail market.

Buy in the next recession when shipping takes a downturn. Now would be the worst time.

So far as I can tell, the ones that are sold off by the shipping companies are snapped up by resellers quick. The best place to find them is being sold by previous owners who are done with them. I just saw one on my local craigslist a few months ago for $500.

We bought a 40’ high cube a couple years ago for $2450 delivered. I’d like to have a couple more but can’t find em at that price

Sure, but a couple years ago I bought one for $1500 delivered. For $3000 I could pay someone to build a shed.

I thought about putting a 20ft high wall on our new place in lieu of building a shed, due to the security factor of not having windows and being able to secure the door with a guarded hasp, etc.

But yeah if they're upwards of 3 grand.......eff that noise.

From what I've seen, the larger containers are cheaper than the 20 footers.
