Stranded motorist and dog survive 5 days on taco sauce

Not buying it. Supposedly you can survive 3 weeks without food but you need water. Of course they had snow. Maybe they made Taco Bell Fire snow cones. To say they survived due to taco sauce is ridiculous.

Supposedly he had his dog with him. What did he feed his dog?? Somehow his dog lived. When I heard the story on TV this morning I also laughed it was so ridiculous.

He wouldn't have enjoyed eating his dogs shit so much if he didn't have those hot sauce packets.
BAHAHHAHAHAHAH
post of the year so far ;)

BTW this is a reminder for everyone in snow/mountain/flood country to stash a pack or 2 of mountain house, some water, a means to make fire, and a wool blanket in each of your vehicles.
Or God forbid you actually pack and keep a go bag in the car ;)

At least this moron didn't run out of gas and try to light the tires on fire before hiking into the wilderness like James Kim

Yeah...click bait story...its terrible he spent that much time trapped...but the average time it takes to start to death can be over 8 to 12 weeks depending on hydration. Id be more worried about the dog going feral and deciding that he looked tasty and went full Cujo.

or the other way around

All i know is i hope him and the dog had somewhere to go # 2 away from where they were trapped with all that taco sauce or it would be a bad place.

3 minutes without air ... 3 hours without shelter (hostile weather) ... 3 days without water ... 3weeks without food

Yep, the taco sauce twist was an embellishment to the Nth degree.

Maybe the real lesson here is stop at TB, steal and eat a bunch of sauce packets and then you'll be able to survive if stranded. :D

agreed

You can go way longer than 3 weeks without food. The longest I have ever gone is 28 days without food (4 weeks). Supposedly your system starts shutting down after about 5 and a half weeks.
The hunger pangs go away after about 4 days or so, leaving only an "empty" feeling till you hit that time when you literally begin dying for lack of food. You may have some nausea and headaches during that period, though.
