I stopped at Teeter today to pickup some fresh beef tenderloin to grill some kabobs this evening. Of course they were completely sold out of tenderloin. But they did have some packages of this Strauss brand on the meat rack. They are very small, 4 - 5 oz. per filet.

Has anyone tried this brand of beef before?

Just an update if anyone is interested. It turned out "okay". It wasn't the greatest steak I've ever eaten, but it filled in for the fresh stuff I normally get in the meat dept.:)

I used to go past that Baldwin beef place on 86 all the time, I've heard that's some fine meat.

The best beef tenderloin I've found is to get the whole ones at Costco and cut it yourself. The beef is at least as good as places like H.T. charge $20+ per pound for at half the price.

I'd love to pick some beef up from a local farm. I just don't have a deep freeze to make a big purchase that is cost effective.
You might not have to. I buy quite a bit from a farm called Lilly Den in Bear Creek. They sell different cuts of meat raised on their farm processed and packaged into vacuum sealed bags. It's definitely more expensive than the big retail stores but it does taste better, though it can be a bit tougher too which takes a bit of learning to cook it differently.
