Finally got the Macrostream in that I preordered a couple months ago. I have been a big fan of the micro stream for awhile and jumped on this when they first announced it earlier this year. Unfortunately with the current climate, like everything else, it was delayed quite a bit in actually hitting the market.

this is a micro USB rechargeable light with a high output of 500 lumens then a low of 50. You cycle between the 2 by one click of the button for max and a quick second tap for low. Unlike the micro steam, the black model, which is the only available option right now, the first tap gives you the high output.

so far I am really liking it. It seems to be plenty bright enough to be used as an EDC light. I feel like this is something I could comfortably carry clipped in my pocket all day and forget about it.

Are you saying the microstream has more than one mode? I have two of them and have only ever gotten one light output.

I’m generally annoyed by flashlights that have multiple modes. Especially the ones with strobe. The worst are the ones where you have to cycle through the modes to turn them off, or get to the mode you want. Thankfully that trend seems to have died down.
You don’t push the button all the way to the click just then quickly push it again. There’s a bright and dim mode.

Not on mine. Maybe it’s because you have the Microstream USB, and I have the AAA.

correct, only the USB models have multiple modes.

I have wanted one of the Macrostream for a while now but they are hard to find. The microstream USB is in my pocket every day.

On the macrostream, does it have a good feeling temporary-on setting when pressed before getting to the click? Meaning a partial press lights up, but releasing turns the light off.

I feel the microstream does a decent job at this, for a click-type switch.

yes, it is very good as well. Little different feeling than the micro stream, but very easy to partial press the button

this is a big seller for me, a partial press to get light on for as long as I press. I hate reverse clicks which allow you to click fully before partial clicks get 'pulses' or whatever, has kept me away from Fenix for several years now

Macro looking good
Love my Micro
