Where do you guys get your sub sonic ammo? I looked on ammoseek.com but couldn't get it to search for subs...

I see PSA carries it... They have 9mm subs in stock for about .50 a round...

I need to buy subs in .22, 9mm, .300blk, .308, and 7.62x39.

Any recommendations of retailers and sub manufacturers?

Thanks!

You should be able to filter by grain….not specifically for the word subsonic.

147gr and 158gr will be subsonic. You may find some other stuff that is, but generally 115gr and 124gr is supersonic. I think @Butter loads a 125gr sub?

It doesn't have to be labeled "subsonic" to be subsonic. And stay away from anything Ammo Inc.

For 9mm, anything 147gr or heavier (that isn't +P), will be subsonic.

300blk, 190gr or heavier should be subsonic.

22LR, CCI SV is subsonic in all pistols and most rifles. Just look for advertised velocity to be below 1100 fps.

308 subsonic would need to be labeled as such, is uncommon, and last I looked, expensive. Don't waste your money....you already have 300blk. Reloading is really the way to go if you must have subsonic 308. And make sure the barrel has a 1/10 twist at minimum, or you'll likely have a hard time getting heavier subsonic bullets to stabilize.

7.62x39. It would need to be labeled subsonic to be such. Harder to find (or used to be), and expensive. You've got 300blk...don't waste your money. If you insist, look and ammoseek and see if anything comes up.

I hand load most my subs. Last time I check subsonic 300 blackout was almost $1 per round and I can’t stomach that shooting high volume.
And there really isn't any reason it should be that expensive. It's typically no more accurate than pistol ammo so it shouldn't cost much more than 147gr 9mm. If someone made it at a decent price they would sell tons so the supply and demand argument doesn't fly.

@Alabamacoastie I have bricks and bricks of different subsonic .22lr that you can try at the house. I wouldn't buy anything until you burn through some of the different ones I have to see what you like. And then odds are I have extra you can have.

Thank you! I talked to Kyle yesterday, but neither of us could remember what name brand ran best at your house a few months ago. He's going to let me try out a few small boxes of .22 subs and then I'll get up with you about buying some (if you have extra laying around).

The quietest sub 9mm I have ever shot is the fed Syntech 150gr, it is a little bit more pricey that others though.

I order bulk 147gr reman from LAX ammo. I’ve shot several thousand of it so far and haven’t had any issues.

For 22’s I typically get CCI SV at Wally World at $0.10 ea.

I have 6 or 7 different sub-sonic flavors, so you are welcome to experiment out here with anything you don't try from Kyle.

I don't know about all this talk of buying though! 🤗

You know you're welcome to whatever excess I have in that regard!

Thanks bud! I appreciate it!

That Fed Synthech is very quite in my MP5 with an Obsidian 9.

Best way is really to load it yourself.
11 cent bullets, plus a few grains of powder, and (unfortunately) an overpriced primer. Still cheap.

These are VERY subsonic. They have 147s also of course.

Our 147gr is 900fps
125gr is 1,050fps

This is solid advice (and a nice offer). 22's are picky to begin with and I've found subsonic 22 more so.

The good news is there's a lot of subsonic 22 out in the market.

My favorite .22 subs are CCI Subsonic HP 1050fps

Glad to see Fiocchi 158s back out On the market. I’ll probably buy a few boxes to have even though I reload. Haven’t tried Fed Syntech subs but the Fiocchi 158s were always my go to. I got these for $7.99/box back in 2012 and bought thousands

Subsonic .308 and x39 will probably be specialized and pricey. A thousand of each might pay for a single stage reloading setup

I wish I had some more of the Fiocchi.

I have a little of the Syntech but have yet to try them.

For 300blk subs i can reccomend these,
Use code "MT6" for 6% off and free shipping, no tax outside of Florida. $446.50 to your door per 500rd case. Just a cool tidbit, but there was a free duramag, stickers and a thank you note in the package recived, that was a nice touch.

Ordered a supply drop with a friend, and yesterday evening we fired 300+ rounds between the two of us. Very quiet, no misses and consistent results when on paper.

Transactions here also support a small buisness, so that's cool too.

There's someone in HS that sells ammo, I get my subs from him.

Cant remember his handle but if you PM me, i can get you a phone number.

I totally forgot that @Butter owns a business selling ammo (sub and super).

I just put in an order for 1000rds of 9mm subs...

Also, @SecundusSystems hooked me up with 4 different name brands of .22lr subs. I can't help but smile every time I fire my 10/22 and it is quieter than my air pellet rifle. Literally, all I can hear is the bolt moving back and forth... And, so far, they are all cycling properly...

I might hold off on buying any 300blk subs. ~$1 a round makes me cringe just to think about it...

I shoot a lot of AAC subs and supers, been pretty impressed.

I get CCI SV 5k rounds at a time and it’s cheaper that way. I’ve got a few other offerings but it’s really hard to beat

I ordered 1k rounds from @Butter on Sunday. UPS just put them in my hands, 48 hours later!

That is fast! Thank you guys!
