I’ve kinda been wanting to pickup another M1 Carbine and the LGS has one of the new production Inland’s in a “scout” configuration. It is not attractive looking (wood stock painted black and forward mounting picatinney rail) but it’s threaded and has a removable flashbhider. Since it’s basically a pistol caliber operating a short stroke piston gun I can’t come up with any reason not to try it except for maybe an increase in back pressure.

I’d likely use a direct threaded 9mm can (no Nielsen device) and sub 2,000 ft/sec out of a 18” barrel so I know I’ll still get the sonic crack but it will drop at least 30dB ... am I forgetting anything that could be a problem?

Buy 2, as I don't have one either.

I’d check how much the can would increase backpressure in regards to the cycling of the rifle. Is the gas adjustable? Have other people shot it successfully with a can? Is the suppressor rated for supersonic .30?

......a solid handgun can could probably take it.......but i would be scared to do any rapid fire/mag dumps.
