I recall the .22 doesn't pick up anything from a barrel longer than 5"

Optimum barrel length for 22lr velocity wise is about 16". No reason for a longer barrel other than sight radius.

Actually more length does reduce muzzle blast though so a 24" barrel would be quieter unsupressed. I can't imagine it making much difference suppressed, you can't take much away from nothing.

Plan to eventually thread it.
May need a custom extension to get 5/8x24.

As long as we're drifting about, can anyone recommend factory subsonic 300BLK ammo? I have a single shot rifle coming in the next couple weeks. I know that I should have bought a .308 bolt gun, it was a moment of weakness, but nonetheless I need to feed it and am not setup to reload for it yet.

I had to decide between the old 340 and the 77/357 for a SBR project. I ended up going with the Rooga. It came out awsome. I have not forgotten about Spitzer 30-30 subs though.

@Slacker that picture reminds me to ask if you've seen the low profile fixed adapter that Liberty now offers? Adds very little length or weight to the can.

I have one.
It does shorten (and lighten) the can by a big margin!

Any less effective for sound reduction? I always thought that the can needed to big blast chamber, but maybe that's only needed for rounds with larger charge weights than we typically use.

Not to my ear, but I shoot subs so it's usually overkill.
