Who is running Talon rubber grips? I'm especially curious about if you are using them on your CCW. They look like they might grab clothes, but since I've never actually felt them I might be overestimating how tacky they are. I am familiar with the Hogue soft rubber grip sleeves. Are they that sticky, or are they closer to the feel of a polymer frame?

I had the rubber ones on everything I carried and never had any issues. My current carry piece was always very slippery in my hand. I put the granulate ones on it and LOVE them. It is as if the gun is glued to my hand. Gotta wear a tshirt.

For range and bedside guns I use the sandpaper ones (home made with skateboard tape) and was a little disappointed with the rubber ones on my G26 gen 4. However I put the rubber ones on my G43 and love them, so I think for me it depends how good the factory grip is.
I donā€™t wear an undershirt so I know I couldnā€™t get away with the granulated ones for CCW, but I havenā€™t noticed the rubber ones causing my shirt to hang oddly or get caught up.

Thanks, all. I ask because I really like the M&P 2.0 compact but the texture is way too harsh for my dainty hands. It was suggested I cover it with Talon rubber.

One more question. Does the Talon make the grip seem thicker?

Nope, they're so thin that they don't change the dimensions of the grip.

Not at all. I put them on my XDS for that very reason.

I guess Iā€™ll be the odd man out here. Iā€™ve had the rubber one on several guns and recently stopped trying to convince myself that I liked them. They feel great in the hand and wonā€™t grab your clothing at all, but my issue with them is, when carrying IWB and they get the least bit sweaty, they become very slippery. When the rubber gets wet it makes the grip even more slick than if you had nothing on at all. I will not use them on a carry gun ever again.

I have granulated Talon grips on a Shield that I carried for about a year. With daily carrying and 50~100'ish rounds fired per month the "granilated" got wear spots. It still fit well and fired well, no issues with feeling "slippery". But I was disappointed to see them wear.

I would expect to see less of that particular issue with the rubberized, which I have never used on my own firearm.

Thanks again. I just placed an order for my existing carry pistols to go ahead and try them out. It sounds like I'm going to really like them.
So...what's your experience been so far?

I got them in last week and had the opportunity to carry all weekend on a road trip. First impressions: the fit is impressive, following the lines of the grip with enough play to get around complex curves. The feel is what I was hoping for, slightly tacky rubber that doesn't grab clothes. Thin enough that I didn't feel like the grip diameter had changed.

I can't speak to durability just yet, with only a few hours of carry and no rounds downrange. I also didn't sweat very much this weekend, though that weather is quickly approaching. Maybe I'll go do a work out and then grab the pistol just to see how it interacts with sweat or something.

I have the rubber talon grips on several of my handguns and I really like them. I carry the G43 everywhere, everyday, and I don't even know it's there anymore. The grips do not catch on my clothes at all.

Nope, I'll join you on the weirdo bench.

I got a set by mistake (wanted the sandpaper texture, got the rubber) but I figured I would try them. They felt nice just dry firing, but after a while they started feeling "greasy". I kept repositioning the gun in my hand and at the matches I felt like I had way less control at speed. I took the backstrap part off and that helped a lot (exposing the factory glock texture) and then eventually I just gave up and pulled the whole thing off. So much happier, except for wasting the money but it's the cost of first hand experience.

No doubt the rubber arenā€™t anywhere near as good for competition as the sandpaper.

As an FYI for others reading this later if your rubber talon grips feel greasy give them a good wipe down with rubbing alcohol. It helps clear off the oils and renew their tackiness. This is recommended on the installation sheet but who keeps that around to remember.

I finally got to shoot a match with the grips installed this past weekend. I absolutely loved them. It helps that I was shooting pretty well that day anyway. It was over 90 degrees, and while I wasn't dripping sweat, I still feel like I would have noticed if they got too slippery. I felt like I had better control all day than previous matches. The only factor left to monitor is how long they stay in this condition.

Black rubber on everything. I carry iwb with the grip against my skin, what I'm getting at is the granulate is too rough. Scratchy city. Like the Shield 45 or M&P 2.0 texture. And I'm exhausted bye bye

I've been concealed carrying my CZ P-07 lately and the grip is sooo rough. It feels great in my hands, but, in the holster, it rubs my muffin top when I walk. Hahahaha. I have a new set of Talon Grips on order. I hope it arrives soon. My 4 o'clock muffin top is getting sand papered.

Ask 20 people get 20 different answers, always has been, always will be.

I have the granulated Talons on all of my Glocks.
I really like the grip.

When I got the 43 I thought the wife might use it and she thinks the granulated grip is too rough.
So I got the rubber grips for it made by a different company. Half the price, went on easy and they work well.
I can see them being slippery if wet with blood or maybe sweat. The granulated ones will still grip under the same situations.

IMO these are the best stick on type grips Iā€™ve ever used and I have them on every pistol I own now. They are made by Brooks Tactical and called Agrip. Itā€™s a soft ā€œfeltā€ type material that is very thin and provides excellent traction and actually gets even better if your hands get wet.

Talons will be $4 off on July 4th.
