Anyone have actual experience with these?
It was suggested that the Taurus 1911 isn't that bad but I am very wary of the Brazilian Bull.
Can they be tuned up to work if they aren't exactly great out of the box?

I'd go RIA in that range also. Or you could spend a few more bucks on a Colt, Ruger or Springfield. It really just depends what features and look you want. They'll all run.

I've got one in stainless. Trigger is great and it's always run well for me. I'd read internet rumors about the mags but I've never had a problem with my factory ones. You're welcome to come check it out.

I thought I remembered you had one and were happy with it but then decided it was a PT92.

I use to have one. Shot probably 10k rounds though it and never gave me a problem. Only thing I shot in it was cast swc.

I've got one and I've never had an issue with it. The trigger is great, its accurate and runs like a top. If you want to try it you are welcome to play with it. I got it for the forged frame/slide for a 460 Rowland conversion but never got that far.

Ive never messed with tbe Taurus 1911s. But i have heard they are built like a 1911 and that they operate the same way as a 1911. So id say its most likely one of the best guns ever made. Bonus it looks like a 1911. I hope this helped.

I did a whole lot of research when I was looking at 1911's in 9mm, and Rock Island Armory got great reviews. Especially for skinny money. I'd look at RIA.

I have 3 RIA's in 9mm and never an issue. I have Colt's and Sig's in 45 but prefer to shot the 9mm RIA. It is my everyday carry also.

Another vote for RIA. Mine, in .45 has never skipped a beat.

Get a rock island. They make great 1911s for the money. I have owned a few. Never liked the Taurus ones. If I remember correctly they are the 80 series, just adds something that's not needed to a battle proven design imo. Get a rock and you won't be disappointed ;)
