Teen assaulted by atrium security/Lincolnton police

What a travesty... security, cops, medical facility and prosecutors all taking turns sticking it to this kid.

Seems like there has to be a real story is behind all this... why would they all step across the line so egregiously?

Or is this the new normal?

Would they have been charged if they weren't cops/security?
Would I (civilian) have been charged if I had done what the guys on the video did?
As I understand, the kid is charged with a felony for attacking the cops/security. Why not simple assault, non felon?
Cops/security should be treated like everyone else.

He took an Alford plea (the kid) now the civil lawsuits should start flying. Kid said he was gonna shoot people - sure I get that. Once you went hands on with someone half your size and age, then you should have expected to get shitcanned and sued in this day and age.

I wonder what alternative reality Sheriff Bill Beam lives in? The officer didn't punch the kid in the face twice? The officers didn't end up on the ground?

security director and the Sheriff, need to stop making f*ing excuses for this crap and for those who do it.

About 30 years ago now a Georgetown County man ran for High Sherriff with a single platform...If you elect me I will fire Every person that works at the Georgetown County Sherriff's Office.....you can imagine how that set the Deputies and ancillary personal on Fire. They went to work against this fella with everything they had. End result was....six months after the election, they were ALL fired. He served 30 years and died last year in office with a reaction to cortisone.
Looks like ya'll in that county need the same thing.
